Emissions Senior Technician-L2 Hourly
Description
§Commission and troubleshoot emissions measurement equipment, methods and software
§Assure that CTCC's emissions test facility and procedures comply with EPA, ISO, and IMO requirements
§Work cross functionally with data customers, operations and quality groups to improve emissions data quality and test processes
§Show ability to follow QSi procedures, and update them as required
Knowledge of emissions test regulations particularly the 40CFR1065 and ISO-8178
Knowledge of emissions test systems and related components. Understands fundamental operating principles
Knowledge of emissions data post processing and database extraction tools.
Knowledge of engine dynamometer testing.
Knowledge of internal combustion engines and emission formation mechanisms.
Track emission-related M TE items and ensure items are maintained
Ability to maintain both gaseous and PM systems including NDIR, FTIR, HFID,HCLD, Bosch-smoke, gravimetric PM and opacity meters.

Knowledge
§4-yr applicable degree or 2-yr applicable degree with 2 yr experience or 8 yr applicable experience
§Applies experience and theory to design and troubleshooting

Communication skills: Will have verbal and written communication with all stakeholders related to the test process including: suppliers, contractors, project managers, Test Operation Mgmt, operators, technicians, other emissions engineers, facility and product development engineers.
Will document work with a variety of methods including forms, work instructions, training material, and Cummins Technical Reports.
Able to apply good engineering judgment to identify where methods need to exceed legal requirements and document best practices.
