Applies knowledge of measurements science (with a core focus in the area of DC/LF, RF, Pressure, and Temperature), mathematics, physics, and engineering; in order to clean, maintain, calibrate, or repair M&TE (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, timer/counters, thermocouple calibrators, process calibrators, filters, function generators, torque wrenches, dial indicators, calipers, plug gages, weights, flow meters, etc.) using established procedures, both in lab as well as in-situ, to ensure the required level of measurement traceability and accuracy are maintained.

Maintains a laboratory quality system in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, ISO/TS 16949 and/or ISO 9001 requirements, as appropriate, including managing customer response to out-of-tolerance equipment findings, reporting metrics of equipment past due for calibration to management, appropriate laboratory metrics, customer notifications on work status and other testing/calibration report generation.

Performs or participates in measurement systems analysis of M&TE, inter-laboratory comparisons, and measurement assurance programs, and performing the role of an assessor to audit various labs and provide guidance on potential improvements throughout CMI.

Handles the process of protecting and maintaining assigned equipment, including scheduling and performing of weekly/monthly checks on equipment and maintaining lab traceability through scheduling of internal and external calibrations, including management of quotes/transactions for indirect suppliers of these services along with lab consumables.

Develops and documents calibration procedures, by using best practices from national, international and industrial consensus standards and as required, including development of automated procedures using a variety of computer programming tools and scripting languages including Fluke Met/Cal.

Operates, calibrates, installs, programs, repairs, designs, and fabricates instrumentation and data acquisition systems.

Designs, develops, and documents new data acquisition systems; serves as expert in hardware and software systems; coordinates and sets up tests;

troubleshoots problems.

Schedules and prioritizes projects in order to produce optimal results; schedules work by interfacing with customers both internal and external as well as support

groups within the company.

Specifies, purchases, and maintains equipment; fabricates prototypes; designs and executes field tests.

Uses a number of general tools including but not limited to digital multimeter, soldering iron, function generator, and frequency generator.

Reads and interprets electrical wiring diagrams.

Communicates (oral and written) technical information to a diverse customer base.

Participates in the maintenance of quality procedures.

Develops and conducts training programs; provides counseling, mentoring, and coaching.

Serves as company representatives in various capacities to customers, suppliers, and outside agencies.

Interacts effectively with employees throughout the company.

Demonstrates adaptability and responsiveness to changing work needs and willingness to undertake new tasks as they become evident; initiates, develops,

Leads, and participates in improvement projects.

Manages own work and adjusts work priorities in order to meet the demands; participates in self and team audits and associated

corrective action; plans and engages in continuous learning in order to be prepared for changing work demands.

Qualifications

Education, Licenses, Certifications

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

A regionally applicable Certification (e.g. US Department of Labor) or two year Associates Degree from an accredited college program in a relevant field of study with two years of relevant experience; or, a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
