Mechanical Engineering Technician (Hourly)- 3x12 PM Shift, Columbus, Indiana - OCU

Description

We are looking for a talented Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our team at the in Columbus, IN with starting pay of $31.00 -$35.00/hour plus a $2.00 shift premium. Also a $1500.00 signing bonus. Shift hours are Friday-Sunday, 7pm - 7am, Work 36 hours, get paid for 40 hours.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

Builds, repairs, and prepares articles for testing and associated auxiliary equipment. Installs test article into test structure (test cell, table, rig, etc.). Performs tests in accordance with set test methods.

  • Performs testing in accordance with established test procedures and methodology.

  • Consistently provides accurate and reliable test results.

  • Has an in-depth understanding of the function on of the test equipment used to perform test and the contribution of the test equipment to the validity of the test results.

  • Configures and operates data acquisition systems; analyzes and reviews data for appropriateness.

  • Has an in-depth understanding of the functioning of the product under test to assess the contribution of the product to the validity of the test results.

  • Performs test stand installation, troubleshooting and setups and the upkeep and maintenance of laboratory equipment.

  • Provides support/recommendations to engineering for equipment supplier evaluation and qualification, equipment and facility updates and instrument specification.

  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

High school diploma, GED or equivalent required with Department of Labor Certification.

or Associates degree from an accredited program in a related field and at least two years of relevant experience.

or Bachelor’s degree in a related field

or Relevant military education and experience.

Experience:

Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

  • Technicians will be required to do all mandatory trainings to remain compliant in their roles (HSE, CLC courses, etc).

  • Technicians will be required to communicate with internal customers via email and collaboration applications (i.e. MS Teams).

  • Technicians will be expected to fulfill daily functional requirements via 5S methodology. Technicians will be expected to learn necessary fabrication skills.

  • Technicians will be expected to review their time sheet every week.

  • Technicians will be expected to purchase all necessary tools to work in the Laboratory.
