This is an exciting opportunity in Fridley, Minnesota for a Test II – 2ndShift.

Cummins USA is where you can work on industry leading engineering projects such as New Product Development, Value Package Introduction and Systems Product Validation.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

The Test II performs a series of mechanical and electrical connections, manually or using a variety of hand and air power tools, to test products correctly, such as generator sets, smaller sub-assemblies, and harness assemblies, and carries out responsibilities by utilizing test software and equipment.

  • Produces quality work by following defined departmental procedures and/or process documentation

  • Interacts with customers to identify customer needs and maintains ongoing, direct contact with internal and external customers and suppliers

  • Tests, troubleshoots, and repairs generator sets where extensive electrical and mechanical knowledge is required

  • Provides assistance to engineering, service, or sales departments in solving test problems

  • Provides customer certification test data as required for shipping release

  • Rotates through various stages of team production

  • Sets up and tests generator sets

  • Participates actively in the identification of ways in which to improve quality, safety, process, material flow, and employee development

  • Participates in all workplace safety and environmental policies and procedures bywearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE),keeping work area safe and clean using 5S (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain), completing annual safety training, and reporting any risks or hazards

Qualifications Required:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • 2 year certificate from college or technical school in electrical field or related discipline

  • 1 year of experience in manufacturing environment with at least one year being assembly or test-related

  • Experience working directly with customers/suppliers, demonstrating good communication, interpersonal, and technical skills to maintain a good working relationship

  • Demonstrates basic computer skills and a good understanding of PC-based operating systems

Compensation and Benefits

Base hourly rate $22.65/hour with step progression to $26.65/hour Shift Differential ($0.70.) Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
