SEP - ATA Production Engineering Specialist - 3rd Shift - Hourly

Description

Assist with the design, improvement, and installation of integrated manufacturing or administrative systems which use people, materials, information, equipment and energy. Assists with the planning, design, purchase, and/or implementation of integrated manufacturing, assembly or fabrication processes in manufacturing plant.

General

  • Knows and complies with departmental, site, and company policies and procedures including the proper wear and use of required personal protective equipment.

  • Participates in improvement projects; uses common problem solving techniques while working alone or in teams.

  • Communicates effectively with the assigned team, support teams, engineering and management.

  • Maintains housekeeping and safety in work areas.

  • Remains flexible and performs other miscellaneous duties and business needs, as required, to get the job done.

  • Completes work with minimal supervision.

  • Operates within team-based work system and rotates job routine as needed.

  • Communicates technical information to Internal/ External customers, Materials Group and Suppliers regarding projects and quality related issues.

  • Participates in training and personal development; assists in training department personnel and apprentices.

  • Understands and applies appropriate company and department rules and guidelines to work.

Core

  • Works directly with engineers in aspects of engineering issues and objectives

  • Helps drive improvement

  • Help drive improvement project implementation for production disturbances (i.e. quality and downtime fixes).

  • Helps to perform process downtime troubleshooting.

  • Assist in obtaining resources as needed and provide guidance on priorities. (i.e. support personnel, engineering, indirect supplies, etc.)

  • Provide “predictive” identification of potential machine breakdown.

  • Participate in cross-functional Work Teams in the assigned area.

  • Production control software support

Industrial Engineering

  • Process documentation in Ease

  • Time studies and standardized work

  • Line balancing

  • Implementation and tracking of process alerts

Manufacturing Engineering

  • Documentation upkeep

---Tool and fixture modification tracking

---Upkeep of FMEA/Control plans including tracking and documenting issue resolution actions

  • Ensure machine capability

---Plan and run gage repeatability trials

  • Support of TMP and downtime reduction

  • Support of engineering projects

Hot & Cold Test

  • Documentation upkeep

---Machine Drawings

---Tool and fixture modification tracking

---Upkeep of FMEA/Control plans including tracking and documenting issue resolution actions

  • Ensure machine capability

---Plan and run gage repeatability trials

  • Support of TMP and downtime reduction

  • Support of engineering projects

  • Support of Cold and Hot Test

Specialized

  • Capability to perform all setup and process control work for machines within product manufacturing operations.

  • Serve as a key process training resource for the area.

  • Provide support during machine run-offs.

  • Serve as a resource for VPI processes.

  • Liaison with all affected to help make operating instruction better.

  • Work with Team Leaders/cell leaders/managers to ensure product/line flow, ensuring everyone has what they need to do their job.

  • Coordinate TPM’s and projects to ensure we maintain 100% TPM completion on time

  • Coordinate NCM repair procedures where appropriate.

  • Process knowledge up to and including ability to train other operators on product manufacturing operations where appropriate.

  • User knowledge of statistical process control.

  • User knowledge of basic measurement, blueprint interpretation and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

  • User knowledge of shop math, including trigonometry.

  • User knowledge of Microsoft Office (ability to develop PowerPoint presentations, use of Excel for data collection and graphics, and Word for technical report writing).

  • User knowledge of CAD software

  • Communicates effectively with the assigned team, support teams, engineering and management.
